以上两个词中文意思相近，有时多少可以互相替换使用，但一般情况下应该使用哪个词都已经预定俗成。

pain 为一般性的说法，从用不着治疗的slight pain 到无法忍受的unbearable pain ,各种各样的疼痛都可用。而ache为muscle ache toothache这样的疼痛，通常指无需要急治的不严重的疼痛。
