prediction含义很广，大部分是猜测，常常是没有任何根据的。而forecast技术含量更高，常常是对信息进行认真分析的结果。prediction多较单纯，forecast则包含着诸多要素，较为复杂，因此，天气预报、经济预测等特定的专业领域几乎都用forecast。
